ROUTE 2:Warburton Bike Park - Half Lap Beginner Fun

         21.05km           555m

Starting at Wesburn Park Trail Head, this Half Lap will gently ease you into some awesome MTB trails, while still giving you some solid singletrack action. Begin by climbing up the Wesburn Link Fire Trail from the trail head sign board (CAUTION - this is the only two way trail on the hill - riders will be coming down as well) IMPORTANT - when you get to the trail fork junction - you MUST turn left and follow the switch back climbing trail called 'Rubber Stamp' Follow this trail for a few kilometers until it naturally blends into 'Milling Around' for a short stretch, before another trail fork junction (with a signage board) where you will blend RIGHT into 'Bitta This Bitta That'. At this point, the beautiful singletrack will start meandering downwards for a bit, through tall tree ferns and stunning forest. Follow this trail for a few kilometers until you reach another small trail fork junction where you will blend LEFT and back up the hill into more awesomely rolling switchback climbing. Still following 'Bitta This Bitta That' you will reach some tighter switchbacks in the climb, at which point you will see the junction for 'Tools Down' This is where you will veer left/straight on, and start descending down 'Tools Down'. This is an easy, fast and flowing descend trail will rollers, fast berms and pumping dippers. Don't get caught out by the fast speeds on the trail if you let off the brakes. Follow 'Tools Down' until you get to a small trail junction which is at the intersection of 'Uptown Flow' and 'Milling Around' - this is where you will turn RIGHT and after a few short climbing switchbacks, you will pop out on the Mt Little Joe Fire Trail - veer LEFT and follow this Fire Trail until you see the 'Green' descending trail called 'Hopscotch' This is where the real fun begins - a long and twisty, pumping singletrack descent, all the way into the town of Warburton. Lean back, hang on tight and find your FLOW. You will be absolutely buzzing when you pop out at the bottom, so this is where you will go and have a quick visit to one of the many fine food and drink places in tow for a refuel. After that, head out of Warburton (west) along the Rail Trail and after a few hundred meters, you will see 'Uptown Flow' popping off to your left. At this point, if you've had a great time, but your exhausted, you should follow the Rail Trail back to Ride Time in Yarra Junction, or back to Wesburn Park to collect your car. BUT..... if you're ready for more fun, turn left on 'Uptown Flow' and settle in for an awesome and twisty climb full over over 50 switchbacks to mellow out the very steep terrain. At the top of the climb - veer RIGHT into 'Milling Around' into 'Bitta This Bitta That' which will traverse you across to the 'Zinglefun' descent, at which point you will veer RIGHT and head down one of the fastest and coolest bits of trail back into Wesburn Park. 'Zinglefun' is awesome, but be CAUTIOUS of the small jumps at high speed, and when you are nearing the bottom, you are merging into a TWO WAY trail that you first started on, so please, go slowly. Roll into and out of Wesburn Park and back to us at Ride Time Bikes in Yarra Junction. You have just had an AWESOME time and a great loop on the Warburton Bike Park.
